The Lesser White-fronted Goose (Anser erythropus) is the smallest of the grey geese. It is regarded as an endangered species although there are conservation efforts in Europe — this makes the captive population of Lesser White-fronted Geese of great importance; a re-introduction project was established in Swedish Lapland between 1981 and 1991. These birds winter in the Netherlands.
Thankfully it is a very popular species in aviculture.
