The American White Ibis (Eudocimus albus) is one of the more commonly kept species of ibis in aviculture. Its population status in the wild is also of least concern.
This species along with many other ibis species show distinct differences between individuals that are in breeding condition and those that aren’t. The main changes include the end of the bill turning from red to black, along with a bright red face and wattles which form underneath.
